The Liebster Award

Thanks Primitive Screwheads for picking Applied Sentience’s small (but growing) blog and group of writers! It took us quite a good few months, but we’ve finally scrounged up a bunch of answers, further questions, and another round of blogs for the award.

What is The Liebster Award?

A blogger-to-blogger award that tells a fellow newbie blogger that they are making the world a more interesting/intellectual/funny/better place. It is given to upcoming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. On being nominated for the Award one needs to accomplish the following 5 tasks.

1 Paul C My favorite adventure: I once rode a bicycle across Southern Uganda in 5 days.
2 Paul C I have a dramatic phobia of ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise (and a few other condiments).
3 Emma When I was 9, I attended the First (and, subsequently, only) National Girls Conference, where we met Gloria Steinem, Sheryl Swoopes, and Marlo Thomas.
4 Emma I drink tea over coffee, and am exclusively addicted to Barry’s, an Irish brand which I learned is easier to find in the States than in England.
5 James: One of my hobbies is to collect pictures of world maps to contrast how they handle the demarcation of disputed territory.
6 James Despite living in one of the most urbanized states in the country (New Jersey), my house sits next to a farm, with cows, horses, and donkeys.
7 Harold I was brought to the United States at age 7 under the promise of going to Disney World. I’ve never been to Disney World.

9 Leo When I was in kindergarden I nearly bit half my tongue off…it was hanging by a ‘thread’. The doctors had to basically sew it back on. Now it’s freakishly long.

4 Emma Honestly, I have never given this much thought. But one of my friends in college once joked that his tombstone would read “BRB” which I always thought was hilarious and has stuck with me ever since.
5 James The Dalai Lama. He’s an ethnic nationalist and a sexual conservative, and his ideas are very popular.
6 James Incisitermes minor (the western drywood termite). They’re the closest thing to having the “walls talk”, since they can live just about anywhere in wooden household structures.

9 Leo No. The author should create music in my head. I don’t want to muddle his artistic image with what I think the mood should be.
